Round Robins writing

kobiepiha.PNG

I think it was very good to do rounding robins because there were a lot of thinking in the group and most people were not thinking in the other groups. I think it will be good for most people that can listen to instruction. i really liked how we were passing the paper around the circle and we were writing on the paper and finishing off the narrative. and we had to write it for 5 mins

Protagonist

Protagonist is the word for today and there is lots of meaning for this word protagonist
Maori Myth: Hinewhatiri

Hinewhaitiri is the protagonist in the story of the Maori Myth story. He loved to play with the clouds, lighting, wind, and thunder children. They had lots of fun. They wanted  rolling across the sky throwing huge shadows into the landscape below.

The Greatest Storm

The wind howled menacingly like a wolf at the full moon. Lightning licked across the evil sky: a serpent’s tongue tormenting the clouds. The Earth began to shatter. I  was the only child in the hurricane that had survived. I was lying in bed and there was a huge sound like a boom and it was a hurricane but then the thunder started first. That was coming to hitting us.

Right in our own house. And the water came  up so I decided to go to a safe place which was up on roof of the house. But I was scared of heights because I didn't go up the roof that much but it was my first time climbing up the roof. There was no one around so i was had to survive with myself. I was hungry and thirsty then the water was getting higher and higher there was a little bit of food and water on the bottom and there was a little piece of bread there was a little thing on  the ground that the little boy wanted?

“Is it something to eat says the little  boy” and he went closer and what was it? It was a little rock.

Then the rock move that is not a rock “says the little boy that is a a little snail yelled the boy”

There was one more thing that was stopping me. It was a the water it was still coming up and up. There was no other place for me to be dry and warm. I wanna know how i have to do the stuff on my own? There was no other people around they got token from the hungry hurricane began to go harder and faster. I was horrified to see no people around except for a lonely tree. That was the only things alive.

The hurricane finally stopped and the hurricane slowed down and the people was falling from the sky and the people was landing on the hard floor and then they were all happy and some of the people were lying on the floor because they had broken bones and there were lots of them after the hurricane stopped.then the council had made more house for them and there was a lot more house. There was no more of the hurricanes.

Now all the hurricanes have stopped. And now we have to make our new houses. The council has to do the house papers to draw them  and the people. Can  there old turnt into  new house. The flood is almost gone. Because the flood took it all away from us.

comparing frations

This week we used inequality signs <, > and = to compare fractions.
On Monday we used materials. This was easy/difficulty/confusing/problematic for me because… it was confusing that we learnt about the signs using materials that we can be using and there will even and equal. But the pieces that we were using was Half, whole, three, fourths pieces.and the teacher Mrs ramkalawon said that it was a crocodile's mouth

Photo

On Tuesday we used a fraction chart. This was easy/difficulty/confusing/problematic for me because…it was easy because i used my two finger on the fraction chart and then we could see and use our finger to point the and see the fraction numbers on the chart

Photo of fraction chart

On Wednesday  we worked without the above.  We learnt a strategy which was .. to make the denominator the same and times the denominator the same  The  knowledge required to solve to  problems this way is … to use the value and have to know your times tables.
This was easy/difficulty/confusing/problematic for me because…  this was confusing i don’t know all of my times tables.my time tables only go up to 10xs

On Thursday we worked through more examples. I know/understand /need more practice/still confused/lost/ because…i need to learn more of times tables  I will do …what i will do is that i have to learn more of the time tables.

Matariki Celebrations

Today for Matariki we are going to celebrate. There is a lot of people walking towards the Matariki area and they will be getting in for free. Most of the Matariki shows the fee is $2.00 or $4.00.

The Maori Matariki show will have all the performances for Maori culture. I will bet they would even do a Maori haka for Matariki, that is what most people do for the Maori haka. Just doing it and being proud of what they did in the old days.

The fireworks go off then you will know that Matariki is nearly here and then we sing our waiata. Everyone will sing loudly and proudly just to support Matariki for the Maori that had past in the old days.

I wonder if anyone knows about the seven sisters. Were they came from or how or they got into the night sky.
